The wise gutteral utterals of Sango Jingo decided a long time ago that their flag, for political reasons, was best made from asbestos, hence its crumbly appearance.  This solved a lot of anguish over free speech issues.

    The "Union Jack" is a graphical representation of a newtonian formula in the fractal dimension.

    Since the gutteral utterals of Sango Jingo are multidimensional (10D, actually), they have reserved the fractal dimension specifically for use as their sense of humor.  This is why, when they pledge allegiance, they put their hand over their heart, gaze at the Sango Jingo flag, and recite:

"It doesn't get any funnier than this!  Now play ball!"

    The actual union jack on the flag is a fractal representation which translates into a specific joke when interpreted according to the "non-Euclidian-Dangerfield" translator rules found in the Sango Jingo Constitution.  No wonder it's so funny.
 

It is left to the mathematics student as an exercise to translate it, but we'll give a hint.  The punchline is, "That's funny, you don't look Chinese."

 
 
    The field of silver represents the nothingness of the zero flux from which they sprang.  The two red beams of light represent the neon lights of Las Vegas, upon which they travel on pilgrimmages at least 3 times a year using the Multidimensional Diopteric Parallax (MDP) which speeds up the travel time by bending space-time, an idea they stole from "DUNE," but which has been improved by incorporating the additional benefits of business and first class.  The "Frequent Duration" Club (time travel) is especially generous with its Ensley Medallion members.
